Years' Experience
Leigh is a Registered Liquidator with over 30 years’ experience in corporate insolvency. He brings to Hamilton Murphy a wealth of experience and knowledge of insolvency matters and provides staff with insight and input into the carriage and management of their files. Leigh also provides management advice to senior members of the firm.
During his long career in insolvency, Leigh has taken numerous appointments to a range of businesses – from a small family business to complex multi-level corporations. Notably, Leigh was involved in the operation and sale of Bamix Australia and played a significant role in the trade-on operations of two major international hotels in Tasmania. Leigh is also a joint liquidator of a major residential builder that has a number of complex legal issues and actions.
Having been an investigator with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) for close to 10 years, Leigh has an insight into the requirements, responsibilities and obligations of directors and the legal issues that affect directors in an insolvency situation.
Leigh is a member of CPA Australia, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants.
